This year will be one of the most challenging in modern times. For a manufacturing company like HSP Gripen, it has mainly consisted of keeping our staff healthy, adapting to current and continuously adjusted restrictions, and at the same time supplying our customers who still needed our Grapples. Our strategy of in-house production and local sourcing has continued to be a success factor.Physical meetings with our customers and suppliers have not been possible in the same extent, but we have found new ways in digital platforms. Many of these ways of working will surely remain long after the pandemic.

As you might remember from last year’s annual letter, 2019 was a record year for HSP Gripen. We are delighted to announce that we have managed to adapt well to the new conditions and can also report 2020 as record year. We are extremely grateful to our co-workers for their performances, and a big thank you to all our customers who made it possible!

In parallel with producing at record levels, we have developed and improved our operations, all to be able to meet tomorrow’s requirements both in terms of quality and quantity.

Examples of what we have done are: 

  • Developed a new management system (GVS) and been certified according to ISO9001:2015
  • Developed and started up a new End Of Line testing station for Grapples, that will guarantee hydraulic cleanliness and a non-leaking product upon delivery.
  • Expanded and adapted our facilities, e.g., new process ventilation and heat distribution for an improved working environment.
  • Invested in modern and automated production stations, both for milling and welding. This ensures both increased quality and higher volumes. All in line with our strategy to produce everything in-house.

There have been many deliveries during the year, all of them for sure important, but we would like to mention a few in particular. We have delivered our first 12cbm chip buckets, which is our biggest product ever made. We have made our first deliveries directly to the factory line at one industry-leading OEM. And on top of all, our grapple no. 25,000 was also delivered during the autumn, a real proof of our position as market leader.

During 2021, HSP Gripen will continue the course paved, and we are preparing for a continued growth journey together with our customers. More investments are planned and continued education for our co-workers. Follow us on the web, in our social medias and via newsletters for continues updates.
